The imitation of natural sounds has always been a preoccupation of the beginnings of our human evolution, to be able to evoke and harness the power of the elements for survival, medicine and celebration. Besides some of the sound makers of the percussion family we offer here the spirited instruments of storm-and ocean drums and the wind breaths.
